– 2022-2023 –
“Countering racism and discrimination: the nexus to building pluralistic and diverse societies”
In 2022, fellows from both MENA and EUNA regions traveled together to Morocco. In early 2023, all of them reconvened to complete exposure visits to Finland and Switzerland. In all three countries, they met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to countering racism and discrimination and explore ways to build pluralistic and diverse societies.

After completion of the Programme, fellows brainstormed ideas for collective action to utilize the learning and experience acquired during the programme.
– 2020 –
“Building peace in the age of new media”
In 2020, the format of the Fellowship Programme was adapted to accommodate for global movement and travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and took place in an online format. Throughout an introduction phase, virtual meetings with stakeholders, and online capacity building activities, 19 fellows from 14 EUNA and MENA countries had a unique opportunity to learn about the EUNA and the MENA regions.
All activities and discussions were built around the theme “Building peace in the age of new media”.

After completion of the Programme, Fellows completed projects on a topic related to the theme “Building Peace in the Age of New Media”. Their projects were inspired by knowledge and experience acquired during the online modules, virtual exposure, webinars and online capacity-building activities.
In the 2020 Fellowship, Fellows were asked to produce two projects: the first one with peers from the same cohort, while the second project had to be developed with Fellows from the other cohort.

“The Role of Women in Peacemaking and Conflict Prevention”
In 2019, Fellows from Europe and North America (EUNA) traveled to Morocco, Egypt, and Qatar, while Fellows from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) traveled to the United States, Spain and Germany. Both groups met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to the role of women in achieving peace and preventing conflict.

In 2018, Fellows from Europe and North America (EUNA) traveled to Morocco, Egypt, and Qatar, while Fellows from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) traveled to the United States, Spain and Germany. Both groups met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to the role of youth in preventing violent extremism and building sustainable peace.

Both groups met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to the role media and civil society can play in combatting hatred and fostering inclusion.

Both groups met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to Education and its role in preventing radicalization and xenophobia.

“Migration and Integration” and “Youth Empowerment”
In 2015, Fellows from Europe and North America (EUNA) traveled to Morocco, Egypt, Qatar, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. They met with local stakeholders to discuss issues related to Youth Empowerment in the region.
Fellows from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) traveled to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Belgium and the United States. They met with various actors and organizations to address issues related to Migration and Integration in Europe and North America.
